Anyone ever seen a proof mark like this or know what it is?

Is it on the hammer? I have seen markings like this before. I think it is most likely a production mark, made during manufacture by an inspector or machinist showing it met or failed tolerances.

Yes, the mark is on the hammer (inside, toward front of gun)
