If you end up keeping the gun you will find that they are like potato chips. You can't just have one.

I also would value it around $500. For kicks and grins I tried a 1914 mag in a hsc and I can see that with a little modification it would work.

The magazine looks to be for a 1914 Mauser and while it may fit the gun its not how it was originally equipped. My guess is the holster is also a 1914 holster.
Have you taken the gun apart to see if the serial numbers all match?

Attached photo is of a gunbroker auction from a few months ago. I will venture a theory about a higher polish and finish eagle f pistols that look original. Maybe Mauser had left over rejected parts from earlier production that they used to make up production late in the war. So you could have a few higher polished guns. Just a theory of course

I saw the original gun in question on gunbroker and my max bid was around $300 if that tells u anything about my opinion as to its finish originality.  Attached photo is my eagle f

Model HSC Pistol / post war hsc American Eagle

I recently won a auction for consecutive # American eagle .380 American eagle hsc pistols. I picked them up the other day from my local ffl and I have to say I am pretty happy with them. They still have the cardboard sleeves, box, manual, factory test targets, even down to the original desiccant packet. They look like they have not been fired since they left the factory. Best part is even after adding in the shipping and ffl fees I only paid $900 for the pair which I think was a good deal.
I hope you all don't mind me gloating to much but I had to share.
I tried to attatch a couple photos but the file size was to large, I will have to play around with them and try and upload later

Jcorl. It is  called troxxells gun shop on Lycoming creek rd in Williamsport pa. My understanding is from the guy I talked to  its on consignment from a friend of the gun shop owners. They are firm on the price but at $480 I think its a decent deal. The magazine seems correct in that its indented bottom mag.

Got back today and looked it over again. The full serial for warbird and others who record them. The full # is 917,615. The barrel and slide are matching. My estimate is still 97% bluing. Wood grips are good with a couple pressure marks. I am still going back and forth on it.

It looked like original blue to me. What got my attention most of all was the bluing on the grip straps was still very strong, not turning to the brown patina that I usually see. Grips were wood. They were solid although memory escapes me if the tips were still there. I did not take it apart to check the serials on the slide and barrel as I didn't feel it was right to take it apart if I wasn't seriously in the market. The more I think about it the more I think a trip back there is in order and a evaluation of my budget.

I guess I should have looked through the forum threads before starting a new thread. I see already several evaluations and estimates for a couple commercial examples. However I am still curious what everyone's thoughts are as to whether they collect multiple variations of commercial hsc or whether a commercial is just considered a commercial whether its a early or late gun

I stopped in a gun shop I normally don't go out of my way to see today and lo and behold they have a hsc for sale. I am not really in the market at the moment as I have been working on rounding out other areas in my collection. I have a few hsc but only one commercial example, so I am not really versed in the commercial hsc market, does it matter what variation commercial it is? This is a late example in the 917xxx serial range ( I would provide the full # but I didn't write it down) I would estimate it at a easy 97% gun. The price seems good but I have a earlier commercial example but this is a higher condition gun and so therefore I am thinking of upgrading it. What are everyone's estimate? Thank you
