Jim, any chance you can post photos of the area you are describing?  I'm interested to learn.  Thanks,

Vlim, what a great find.  Very late war and an upside down WaA.  Does the barrel and slide match the frame? I understand that some of the very late ones don't.

Vlim, it would be great to see photos.  Sounds like a very late war gun, near the end.

Warbird, thanks for the quick response and month of manufacture.  The new site is great.

Model HSC Pistol / Late War WaA135 Acquisition
« on: April 24, 2013, 11:25:34 PM »
I was on the hunt for a late war WaA135 HSc and came across this one.  It's serial number 948402, all matching (barrel and slide).  It had wood grips on it, but they were chipped, as many HSc grips are, so I put on a set of wartime "ejo" grips I purchased from another forum member on the P.38 forum.  The WaA135 looks hastily stamped, at an angle and deep on the left and light on the right.  The HSc and grips need to be carefully cleaned, but otherwise it is what I hoped to get.  I'm not sure about the holster.  It's unmarked, but looks more like a CZ27 holster to me.  But, the HSc has clearly been in it a very long time and fits like a glove.
This serial number must be 1945 manufacture, but can the month be pinned down?

Very nice to see a more conventional forum software application. I think it will increase participation and interaction.  I like it.

Very nice, I like the two-digit serial number.  I know some don't like the British proofs, but I don't mind them.  They look fine compared to the ugly U.S. Import marks that look like a billboard ad.  Nice find,
