Model 1914 Pistol / Re: 1914 Reference Recommendations
« on: July 10, 2018, 05:17:24 PM »
Hello,
the two crowns over a U behind the rear sight are the commercial nitro or firing proofs. The other Markings are most likely worker marks or production marks done during the manufacturing process. 1914mauser can probably help with a production date. That is a little bit above my pay grade.

Yeah I was interested til I saw the bulged barrel. I have a non numbered replacement barrel that one could put on it but then you would lose the British nitro proofs. $200 maybe as it is now I would pay but not 350 plus shipping and transfer fee

Going thru GB and saw this 1914 that saw service as a Hamburg police pistol as well as British proofed. Looks like it led a interesting but very hard and neglected life.https://www.gunbroker.com/item/777752563

You might consider this one as well. It's not mine. And it's even cheaper than my offer

I have a fp I would sell. Not sure if it came out of a ww-2 gun or a post war. Just shoot me a email if you are interested. $45 including shipping in the lower 48.

Model HSC Pistol / Wartime vs postwar parts Interchangable?
« on: June 15, 2018, 04:05:53 PM »
My question is this. How many parts on wartime pistols would interchange on the inter arms version from the 70s?
I bought a parts lot of unknown origin as to whether they are wartime parts or not.

General Discussion / Re: Outstanding DD214

So I am wondering if it is actually Bronze stars or Service stars to be worn on the campaign ribbon. The way it is worded actually would make me suspect it means service stars to be worn on the campaign ribbon instead of the actual bronze star.
However I could very well be wrong and I will admit I don't know enough about it. I might just be making a fool of myself.
However either way he sounds like a good dude to have on our side of the war.

Model HSC Pistol / Re: Nice Postwar HSC

Sounds like you aquired a French manufactured HSC right after ww-2. The marking you describe on the left side of the trigger guard is most likely a intertwined rw which is typical for French HSC. The French while in control of the factory produced the hsc with a variety of features meaning some had lanyard loops, some did not etc.
The particular one I have has a external lanyard loop, wood grips and the full serial number is on the frame. The slide is non numbered and has the last 4 numbers of the serial on the barrels breech block.

Well I did not end up the high bidder. Someone got themselves a nice deal as I didn't have the funds in the gun fund to try to beat them. Nice condition with capture paperwork and a extra mag. Sold for $1300

Right now there are alot of eagle F HSC for sale. Two on gunbroker are only 21 numbers apart. I will admit I am going to try to be a buyer on one of them. But if I don't win one o well.
I did look at a couple threads just to see if they would be consecutive numbers to any other ones that people have posted about. But no matches.

I have seen a couple 1914 Mauser Pistols without serial numbers before. So it's possible. But photos would be good

I have always used the Winchester ammo as it is readily available where I am at. Guess I have gotten fortunate that so far my pistols all have functioned on it. Stoppages I have had been due to Magazine issues
