Anyone ever seen or heard of a unit marked HSc?   I am interested in knowing, if anyone has one .

M2 Modern Pistol / Year of Production / M2
« on: September 01, 2015, 06:20:51 PM »
Can anyone tell me the approximate year of production or variation on this M2?   I have attached the box information and a poor quality pistol photo.  Looks like the green box U.S. version.

General Mauser Rifle Questions / No Such Thing As An 8MM Mauser Rifle
« on: August 19, 2015, 11:26:24 AM »
Just returned from a gunshow, where I was looking for some 11MM ammo for my odd ball rifle.  I spoke to all the ammo dealers there and the topic migrated to 8MM Mausers.  4 of the 4 ammo dealers told me that there was no such thing as an 8mm Mauser Rifle ever produced.  I was surprised to learn of that.  The way it was explained to me was that the German's produced a rifle that shot 7.92mm cartridges.  This Mauser was commonly referred to as the 8mm Mauser.  Never would have guessed that to be true.

Model HSC Pistol / HSc Repair
« on: July 10, 2015, 12:31:45 PM »
Please help or tell me to take it to a gunsmith.  Once again, I am gaining courage to tear into my HSc.  I am still in trama from my last efforts.  This time may be a better experience, I am hoping.  The mag release, when no mag is in the gun, falls forward under tension and creates a problem when I attempt to insert a mag.  I take my best thumbnail and pull back on the mag release to open up the mag well to accept a magazine.  I have no idea, why my mag release falls so far forward.  Once the mag is inserted ther mag release works just fine.  Upon magazine extraction, the release falls forward under strong tension.  Will someone render a clue as to what is happening?

Many thanks,

Jim

Model 1910 Pistol / Oklahoma Mauser

I will try to ID the serial number of this Mauser example.  Looks like a fellow down the road has it For Sale.  I am not well versed in this model.   I did have a collection of .25 calibers at one time.  Would like to have at least one back in my collection.  Any comments would be appreciated. I realize the gentleman does not take the best quality of photos.

Model HSC Pistol / HSc Mag base
« on: April 17, 2015, 10:19:34 AM »
I bought an early HSc gun not long ago and was cleaning it's magazine inside and out. I noticed that the floorplate had been machined.  I will take a photo latter and post it, if anyone is interested.  I was interested in learning if a machined floorplate is the common method of production for early production HSc examples.

Model HSC Pistol / Serialized Mag
« on: March 17, 2015, 12:36:19 PM »
Just bought this serialized numbered mag.  One of the nicer ones that I have seen, at least in regards to the manner it was serialized.    Enjoy.

Does anyone have a theory as to why some HSc mags bulge making it difficult to insert them?

Holster Forum / Holster Question
« on: March 11, 2015, 11:18:17 AM »
When Mauser started to produce the HSc and the German Navy (KM) placed it's order for commercial guns, did the KM also place an order for holster's?

Model HSC Pistol / Star Stamp
« on: March 09, 2015, 04:35:52 PM »
Anyone have a star stamped on the inside of their HSc frame?  Mine is located near a rework stamp, then there is an "H" also on the grip handle inside corner of the frame.  I have seen several letters and the RW stamp before, but the star is new to me.

Anyone want to take a guess at what this ink stamp means?   Thanks for looking. If you enlarge, then the second line looks like a III/F.    The first line is not so clear.

Model HSC Pistol / Tear Down
« on: February 12, 2015, 05:00:52 PM »
I looked at an HSc the other day that my friend owns.   I offered to show him how to tear it down, so he could clean it.  He said that I did not need to do that because, he keeps his pistols well oiled and cleaned after shooting.  I told him that I wanted to see, if his pistol matched and found that he needed some reminders on how to field strip it.  Much to my surprise, the barrel would not budge and extract from the slide.  I saw no signs of rust anywhere, just fresh oil.  I could not get the barrel to move any.  I wanted to push with a flat screwdriver, but it was not my pistol, so I did not do that.  Any idea, why a barrel would be solidly locked into position? It was late war and did not appear to have been shot very much.

C96 / C12 Broomhandle / Paris Auctin
« on: October 09, 2014, 12:42:46 PM »
Does this appear to be a ligit Mauser?  I had not seen a Mauser like this before.  The auction house calls it a carbine.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.
