Model 1914 Pistol / What a shame. 1914 Police Marked
« on: July 14, 2020, 08:59:24 PM »
Ran across this police marked 1914 Mauser. What a shame someone decided to engrave someone's name and some numbers on either side of the pistol. For Those keeping records it is L.G. marked

Model 1934 Pistol / Early 1934 Naval Pistol Marking
« on: October 16, 2019, 12:40:25 PM »
I am curious on other thoughts about this one. The marking seems quite out of sequence as this would be near the end of the droop wing eagle marking. It's also marked different way than the 5-6 other examplrs I know of including my own.
But I am always looking for other opinions and to expand my knowledge https://www.gunbroker.com/item/838758204

Model 1914 Pistol / Shenanigans with grips and pistols
« on: July 20, 2019, 11:15:42 PM »
Slightly discouraging to see, but I think it's underhanded. Pre98 Has changed the grips from one late 1914 to a different late 1914. I emailed them asking what the story was. No reply so far

Model 1914 Pistol / Trigger Guard Eagle
« on: April 08, 2019, 08:49:43 PM »
This is a variation I really like. I have a opportunity to purchase one for $350. It has bluing loss but doesn't appear to have pitting. Aftermarket grips. I already have two but with it being somewhat uncommon I am very tempted to purchase it anyway. So any opinions on whether I should save my money or purchase?

Model 1914 Pistol / 1914 Police Issued
« on: January 15, 2019, 08:02:53 PM »

it has been pretty dead in here lately so I thought I would liven it up. I acquired this pistol last Spring.
It has canceled police markings which I believe are type 1 markings to Schneidemuhl district which was then  subsequently transferred to the district of Gumbinnen with type 2 markings.

if anyone has a different idea please feel free to share it.

sorry for the double post, my internet was acting funny

« on: June 28, 2018, 09:53:33 AM »
Going thru GB and saw this 1914 that saw service as a Hamburg police pistol as well as British proofed. Looks like it led a interesting but very hard and neglected life.https://www.gunbroker.com/item/777752563

Model HSC Pistol / Wartime vs postwar parts Interchangable?
« on: June 15, 2018, 04:05:53 PM »
My question is this. How many parts on wartime pistols would interchange on the inter arms version from the 70s?
I bought a parts lot of unknown origin as to whether they are wartime parts or not.

Model HSC Pistol / Eagle F Bonanza
« on: April 28, 2018, 10:11:33 AM »
Right now there are alot of eagle F HSC for sale. Two on gunbroker are only 21 numbers apart. I will admit I am going to try to be a buyer on one of them. But if I don't win one o well.
I did look at a couple threads just to see if they would be consecutive numbers to any other ones that people have posted about. But no matches.

Model 1914 Pistol / Non proofed Mauser 1914 barrels
« on: February 26, 2018, 07:28:09 PM »
There is currently on eBay a seller with 2 Mauser 1914 7.65mm barrels that look like they are lacking the crown nitro proofs that are typically on the front post. Also they do not have any numbers on the opposite side of the post where they typically would be. Instead they have on the underside of the Barrel a letter and a 3 digit number. One is I believe c404 the other is c467. Anyone see this before? I had one some years ago on a pistol and I never did get any good info as to why it was marked in that fashion.

https://www.gunbroker.com/item/725393160 do you think this is a legit stock? Seems like a lot of money for a stock. I haven't seen in person one of those pistols much less a stock for one so just trying to learn something new.
Seems for 5k one could make there own with some help from a machinist to make the attaching hardware

Model 1914 Pistol / Mauser late 1914 Purported to be Japanese marked
« on: October 17, 2017, 07:15:09 PM »
While actually looking at Mauser rifles for sale I ran across this pistol that is purported to be Japanese marked. The seller is wanting alot! Of money for the rig and I personally don't have any interest in aquiring it. However I thought I would post it up for anyone to chime in to discuss it and whether it's legit or not.

Model 1910 Pistol / 1910/34 auction price
« on: September 10, 2017, 10:01:19 PM »
I watched a nickeled 1910/34 go on gb the other day for 285 us dollars. It was missing the safety release and had after marked franzite grips. Listed as a project pistol I also did not see any evidence of a firing pin protruding from the rear of the slide either. Was it a case of someone who had more dollars than sense or ?
