I have had two c96 barrels relined by redmondsrifling.com and was satisfied.  He usually has a long backlog and may not be taking in new work.  Cost was around $350

Does anyone know of a reputable place to do a re-sleeve job on my nearly shot out 7.63X25 C96? Approximate price tag?

I'm located in North East Ohio, but I'd be willing to ship.

Thanks for the reply.

That would depend on where your are unless you are willing to ship your pistol to someone. I do not know a smith I could recommend. I would be willing to take a look at it for you without any guaranties. I am in north central Florida. Regards,

Is there a place here on the forum where I can find a gunsmith knowledgeable on the Mauser 1934 pistol?  Or can you recommend one?

Thank you.

It is very difficult to trouble shoot these kinds of problems via forum. If the slide is not moving rearward enough to remove the barrel something internal must be blocking it. It sounds like your best move would be to find a qualified gunsmith to take a look at it. Regards,

Model 1934 Pistol / 1934 Disassemble Issues

Folks :

I'm working on a Mauser Model 1934 pistol for a friend, and I've got a couple issues.

I can get the takedown rod out just fine, but the slide will not go far enough back to allow barrel removal.

I've removed the magazine catch and grip, but that's as far as I can comfortably go right now.

Also, it appears that the firing pin "loaded chamber indicator" end is broken : when I manually manipulate the firing pin there is no protrusion at the rear of the frame.

Any ideas on "why" the slide won't go fully rearward and allow the barrel to be removed?
Is there a way to disassemble the pistol further without causing damage to it?

Any guidance and direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
Steve Mc

Model HSC Pistol / Help with Identification

Hello,
I inherited a Mauser HSc from my father. It appears to have M III/? under the eagle on the left rear of the trigger guars\d. (Not a question mark but cannot make out the marking, weather it would be a number ot letter). There are "N" markings on the eagles on the other side of the trigger guard and the end of the barrel. 3 lines on the slide. Slide reads Mauser-Werke A.G. Oberndorf a.N. Model HSc KaL. 7.65 MM. Serial 909xxx
 Thank You!
