Title: No factory proof????
Post by: blkrex on February 08, 2014, 09:36:33 PM
I have a HSc with a sn of 714556. It has no proof markings on either side of the webbing by the trigger. I know nothing on the left side means commercial. But no factory proof marking on the right side?  The finish is in great shape, and all engraved numbers match. the electro pen marking under the slide is different. Does anyone have any info? This is my first mauser, is it normal for it to not have the factory proof? Also i was told this was a "bring back", and it has no importer markings.

is the hsu WaA 170 on a holster? I can't tell from the picture itself.  That designation is not on the holster and maker list on the P.38 forum.

Looking at your holster I would say its post WII in manufacture The rough edges of the cut leather that make up holster and the type of stitching in the different parts plus the waffenamps make it authenticity suspect to me.

Ok. I was told it was a bring back, and it has no import markings. The serial number on the gun is 1940, but the holster is probably newer. Thanks for the hekp.

Check our original holsters for PP's and HSC's.  This Legacy Collectables they are a reputable dealer and I have purchased several guns and magazines from them and love doing business with them.  This will show what to look for. Check out the construction and leather colors inside and the edge cut etc.
