Title: Identifying my Mauser

Hello.  Apologies for diving straight in on my first post, but can anyone assist me in identifying this Mauser's origin and age.  I got it from my Norwegian father-in-law.  It appears to have a German Eagle on it.

It looks like a heavily modified K98 with Waffenamt stamps, so maybe a left-over from the occupation of Norway? Just a conjecture.
