I just removed it from my M48A, the stock cap was glued to the stock.. A heat gun for 5mins did the trick.. The rest I used mineral oil..

Yugo 48 Rifle / Steel case Ammo

So I got a M48A from SOG, amazingly nice, is like unissued.. I got some Romanian steel case and she shot well but after 40 round an empty round was stuck in the chamber.. A rubber mallet did the trick and that GREEN crap and the Lacker coating appear to have stuck the empty case to the bolt head.. I guess mauser's are little more picky than sayy Mlsin or Zastava SKS which eat steel case all day
