Greetings, I have been a member for a while but this is my first post so I suppose that may qualify me as a newbie. I have a Model 98 that I inherited from my father. I don't shoot it nor did he as far as I know so I would like to make some room for some other "items" that will get more use. I don't know what I have here. I have been trying for over 2 hours to post images but for the life of me, I can't get it to work so if anyone on the forum is aware of any Mauser rifle experts in the Chicagoland area or can help in any way it would be appreciated. The numbers stamped in 2 places are 38498 in others it’s just 8498 if that helps at all.
