Warbird:
Gerben, what is the story on the KK80 ammunition?

vlim:
The KK80 ammunition was produced (marketed) by IWKA, successor of DWM under the DWM brand name. The ammunition was made in Durlach, near Karlsruhe. This was in the 1960s.

When IWKA was restructured and the ammo branch shut down, a Mauser sales manager decided to take over the production rights and sell the ammunition under the Mauser brand name. The ammunition was made by Winchester as a subcontractor. The sales manager was a former Winchester representative and still had good contacts within the organization. Mauser successfully sold this ammunition on the home market until the 1980s, it sold quite well.

A batch of this KK80 ammo got some waterdamage and was sold off to employees cheaply in order to dispose of it. So it's still found locally on a regular basis.

Warbird:
Great story, thanks!
