From the pictures you sent and details about the magazine plate, I don’t believe the issue is with the magazine.  You also mentioned you can push up on the magazine and the slide closed.  I believe the culprit is the magazine catch.  Your photo showed you had a stamped magazine catch.  It appears that the area which holds the magazine in place has been bent or distorted so it will not hold the magazine tight in place.  I don’t have a spare stamped magazine catch for a 1910.  Maybe someone hear can help you find one or has one in spare parts.

I'll disassemble the pistol tomorrow night and photograph the slide latch and compare it to yours so you can see if it is bent.
