Mauser handgun that i would like some info on

i got a Mauser handgun thru my father-in-law and have no idea on how to find some history on it --date of manufacture --when it was born or made--etc--any info would be grateful

Welcome to the forum, budlight!  To provide any information on your pistol we need a complete description including serial number, caliber, markings, etc.  Of course, a picture would also be most helpful.
